Summer Sewing starts with Costeira Fabrics by AGF

Hello Sewing Friends,
Need a vacation without even stepping foot outside your sewing room? All you need is a bundle of Costeira fabrics by AGF Studio and a tall cool glass of your favorite drink! There is nothing quite like visiting the ocean for the first time. The sound of the crashing waves, the magical sparkle that dances across the water from the sun, and the deep vast blue that extends for miles and miles. My favorite thing to do when I visit the beach even to this day is to dive for sea shells and eat the local fresh seafood.
The Costeira collection by AGF studio has my mouth watering with its vibrant colors that captures the essence of oceanic beauty with seashells, coastal treats, and seaside escapades. It takes us to the charming coast of Portugal with pops of pastel yellow, ocean blues, and splashes of soft orange and bright pink!

“Azulejos” free quilt pattern plays with the blues and the pinks in this collection using this tile patchwork design. The placement of each print creates such stunning movement making your eyes dance as you sit and stare at it. I love how different this quilt pattern can look depending on what collection and colors of fabrics you use. It comes together quickly using the easy strip piecing tutorial in the PDF pattern.

Besides sewing, eating good food from different places around the world is something that makes me really happy! So of course “Gosto Da Costa Fresca” is one of my favorite prints showcasing the yummy cuisine of Costeira. I love how this print turned out in the “Continuous Tablerunner” pattern. For the border we used the mosaic tile print, “Azulejos Rosados” and “Azulejos Azuis” mixed with the pure solids and floral elements! Ideal runner for summer backyard get-togethers!
The sardine print in this collection is so iconic and is trending really hard right now. I love the fresh pastel colors and placement of the sardine cans which is perfect for fussy cutting. We were inspired by this print to create this sardine patio pillow following the design of the print!
One more print I need to shine a light on is the “Algarve Shores” print showing off the scenic ocean waves, flying seagulls, shells, lighthouses, and beach goers relaxing. This print speaks volumes and is the perfect backdrop for quilts or larger projects like this Medi skirt!
