Our lookbook is exactly that outlet to show off these ideas, and they serve as a great reference to see the scale of the prints, the texture, projects, and unique patterns!

Flannel Scarf with Fringe Tutorial

Flannel Scarf 1 BLOG

Ever‌ ‌since‌ ‌we‌ ‌received‌ ‌our‌ ‌Flannel‌ ‌fabric‌ ‌here‌ ‌at‌ ‌AGF,‌ ‌I’ve‌ ‌been‌ ‌fascinated‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌material‌ ‌and‌ ‌brainstorming‌ ‌all‌ ‌sorts‌ ‌of‌ ‌projects‌ ‌that‌ ‌can‌ ‌be‌ ‌created‌ ‌with‌ ‌it!‌ ‌ ‌

I’ve‌ ‌been‌ ‌wanting‌ ‌to‌ ‌make‌ ‌a‌ ‌long‌ ‌scarf‌ ‌for‌ ‌a‌ ‌while‌ ‌and‌ ‌what‌ ‌a‌ ‌better‌ ‌way‌ ‌to‌ ‌use‌ ‌our‌ ‌new‌ ‌Flannel‌ ‌substrate‌ ‌since‌ ‌it’s‌ ‌extra‌ ‌soft‌ ‌and‌ ‌cozy.‌ ‌ ‌

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌tutorial,‌ ‌I’m‌ ‌going‌ ‌to‌ ‌show‌ ‌you‌ ‌how‌ ‌to‌ ‌make‌ ‌a‌ ‌flannel‌ ‌scarf‌ ‌with‌ ‌fringes.‌ ‌It‌ ‌was‌ ‌fun‌ ‌experimenting‌ ‌with‌ ‌this‌ ‌fringe‌ ‌as‌ ‌I‌ ‌pulled‌ ‌each‌ ‌thread‌ ‌one‌ ‌at‌ ‌a‌ ‌time,‌ ‌but‌ ‌just‌ ‌take‌ ‌your‌ ‌time‌ ‌and‌ ‌enjoy‌ ‌the‌ ‌process!‌ ‌ ‌

To‌ ‌make‌ ‌this‌ ‌scarf‌ ‌you‌ ‌will‌ ‌need‌ ‌2‌ ‌yards‌ ‌by‌ ‌the‌ ‌Width‌ ‌of‌ ‌Fabric‌ ‌(WOF)‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌“Wondering‌ ‌with‌ ‌Bear”‌ ‌Flannel‌ ‌print.‌ ‌ ‌

Before‌ ‌you‌ ‌start‌ ‌this‌ ‌project,‌ ‌make‌ ‌sure‌ ‌to‌ ‌take‌ ‌note‌ ‌that‌ ‌you‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌creating‌ ‌the‌ ‌fringes‌ ‌perpendicular ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌selvage,‌ ‌since‌ ‌that’s‌ ‌where‌ ‌it‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌easier‌ ‌to‌ unravel ‌the‌ ‌fabric ‌and‌ ‌overall‌ ‌be‌ ‌a‌ ‌better‌ ‌look‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌fringe.‌ ‌ ‌

A Whimsical Holiday With Cozy & Magical + Plaid Of My Dreams Fabrics by Maureen Cracknell

Hashtag 1 copyHashtag 1 copy*Available in 16 quilting cotton prints

Happy Holidays, Makers!

I know we are in the middle of August but here at the Studio, it might as well be Christmas! It’s a nostalgic day today because we are releasing Maureen Cracknell’s latest collection releases, Cozy & Magical and Plaid Of My Dreams! Celebrating cherished traditions like decorating the tree with twinkling ornaments, wrapping presents, and cozy sweaters, these whimsical prints have everything you need to make holiday sewing magical. This is Maureen’s second-holiday collection and it was meant to coordinate with her first collection “Cozy & Joyful” while still being completely unique.

These fabrics are jam-packed with enchanting details like the print “Christmastide Town” that’s filled with colorful Victorian brownstones, charming details including vintage lamp posts strung with lights, snowmen, and a post box for mailing letters to Santa.

Here’s a fun fact! In an exclusive interview with Maureen, we asked her if this collection could be a person, who would it be? She replied “Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) from the movie You’ve Got Mail, which is one of my favorite holiday movies, although it’s not a traditional Christmas movie. Her character is the owner of a small children’s bookstore on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York, and during the holiday season, both her shop and the city Brownstone she lives in are filled to the brim with whimsical details.” How cute is that? I can totally see the inspiration in these prints!
