Happy Holidays, Makers!
I know we are in the middle of August but here at the Studio, it might as well be Christmas! It’s a nostalgic day today because we are releasing Maureen Cracknell’s latest collection releases, Cozy & Magical and Plaid Of My Dreams! Celebrating cherished traditions like decorating the tree with twinkling ornaments, wrapping presents, and cozy sweaters, these whimsical prints have everything you need to make holiday sewing magical. This is Maureen’s second-holiday collection and it was meant to coordinate with her first collection “Cozy & Joyful” while still being completely unique.
These fabrics are jam-packed with enchanting details like the print “Christmastide Town” that’s filled with colorful Victorian brownstones, charming details including vintage lamp posts strung with lights, snowmen, and a post box for mailing letters to Santa.
Here’s a fun fact! In an exclusive interview with Maureen, we asked her if this collection could be a person, who would it be? She replied “Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) from the movie You’ve Got Mail, which is one of my favorite holiday movies, although it’s not a traditional Christmas movie. Her character is the owner of a small children’s bookstore on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York, and during the holiday season, both her shop and the city Brownstone she lives in are filled to the brim with whimsical details.” How cute is that? I can totally see the inspiration in these prints!
With the addition of Maureen’s Plaid of My Dreams collection, you can pair this Cozy & Magical with the available 8 plaid prints in warm & cozy colors! There are two print scales available so you can find whichever is most fitting for your patchwork projects.
Who doesn’t enjoy a plaid print? They are so versatile because they can be included in your patchwork projects, used for apparel, and even home decor!
Get ready for a substrate extravaganza because you have 4 different prints to play with from these collections! Use the available knit print for all-year-round makes, and with its four-way stretch, this fabric calls for the most comfortable apparel. Plus the addition of 3 flannel prints, this double brushed substrate is super soft on both sides and ideal for the colder months. Make your quilts extra cozy by adding flannel to the backing or create apparel that will be super soft and keep you warm.
Add to the fun with these coordinating AGF Elements!
PURE Solids: London Red, Night Sea, Raw Gold, Vanilla Custard, Miami Sunset, Ocean Fog, Blushing, Georgia Peach, and Pacific.
Floral Elements: Blue, Aquarium, and Winter Wheat.
Capture the magic in every print of these collections with our free quilt pattern called “Joy to the world” where you can enjoy piecing up flying geese and half-square triangles to create adorable silhouettes of houses and gift boxes.

As quilters, I think it’s safe to say that our favorite time of year is now because we start creating quilts for the holidays so we can finish them just in time to have them in your home or gift them to your loved ones. We’d love to see your projects before they are wrapped and gifted away, so post them on social media using the hashtag #AGFCozyAndMagical and #AGFPlaidOfMyDreams, so we can check them out and share the love. There are so many things I need to get started on my own sewing to-do list, but let me know in the comments below what you’re working on!
