Cozy Nordic Feels

Hi Makers!

Happy Thursday! If you didn't know, we recently partnered up with "Debbie von Grabler-Crozier" for a lovely book collaboration called "Lagom-Style Accessories." Debbie who currently lives in Norfolk, UK has been involved in writing and the sewing world for most of her life and has contributed to newspapers and magazines across four continents! When she's not writing, you can find her designing quilt patterns, jewelry, mixed media projects and paper-crafts.

LagomStyleAccessories

If you're wondering was "Lagom" exactly means, it comes from Sweden and translates to basically "just enough" or "everything in moderation." Although a Swedish concept, it has gained popularity since it focuses on having a healthy balance and the positivity that comes with "not having too much" regarding creative projects and a minimal lifestyle. It's something you can't buy, but more of an ideology that embodies using what you have and making do with it.

Inside this book, you'll find twenty, sewing projects (quilts, pillows, wall hangings, plant pot covers, place mats, coasters, etc) that involve "Lagom" and some of these projects involve our fabrics! Debbie has done a wonderful job of fusing "Scandinavian concepts" and "sewing" with each project and all of the images in this book truly give you a warm, cozy feel..you know, that same feeling you get when you're drinking a hot chocolate. This book is definitely for anyone who has basic, sewing experience under their belt and wants to progress to the next level!  So, if you're suddenly feeling all Lagom-inspired, grab a copy of this book for your next sewing adventures!

Until next time - keep creating!

Geometrical Delights: "Loved To Pieces" Fabric Collection

 Hi Makers,

Happy June and hope your month is starting off on a good note!

It's been a busy couple of weeks here, since we settled back in from Quilt Market - Portland. It was at Market that I had the pleasure of finally meeting our AGF designer "Mister Domestic" a.k.a Mathew Boudreaux who has such so much personality and incredible talent! Oh, and if you haven't heard it in his videos or in person, he definitely has a contagious laugh as well! It was at his Quilt Market booth where I got to witness his creativity in "full mode" with everything he had specifically made to debut his FIRST fabric collection, "Loved To Pieces."

Fusing together the love for his OH SO CUTE daughter "Helena" and for "English Paper Piecing," this collection came to life and "blossomed" into a playful, geometric world. With bold prints that highlight various types of flowers and the beauty of symmetry, it's without a doubt a great go-to for fussy-cutting (especially with the Anthonem Serene + Anthonem Festive print), paper piecing, as well as embodies a certain versatility and timelessness. "Loved To Pieces"is without a doubt a collection that definitely encapsulates a love of creating through sewing, but also the special bond of a parent and child and that's pretty inspiring! :)

AGF Mystery Monday- Can You Guess What's in The Bag??

Hello Fabric Friends,

As a quilter/ sewer I have a love/hate relationship with fabric. There is no better feeling then spending a few hours at your local fabric shop slowly walking through the aisles of bolts making sure you pet each one as you  pass by. I always go to the store with a list of things I need to buy but I am not very good at sticking to what's on the list. My imagination runs wild and I see fabric that would be perfect for a summer dress, or my sister would flip if I made something for her with this fabric! How many of you say "oh I have to get this print, don't know what I will do with it but I have to get it just in case they run out. " Then a million hours later, I leave the store with bags piled high! Whoops.

Aww man... the troubles of a quilter. I say as long as your stash doesn't get to big and you have a plan for all the fabrics you buy then you are on the right track..which brings me to some exciting news! I would like to introduce "AGF Mystery Monday!" Monday's just became our favorite day out of the week.  AGF Mystery Monday is  a fun new approach to our fabric giveaways that is going to keep you in suspense!  See all the details below on how to enter the giveaway!
