Go on a sewing adventure with Day Trip fabrics by Dana Willard
March 01, 2018
Hey everyone!
How’s it goin’? February has come to an end which means we’re getting closer to spring. Woohoo! For those of you who live up north, the weather will get warmer, flowers will bloom, and there will be more time to spend outdoors. Best of all, the kids will be off to spring break soon, which is a great time to take a short family trip. As a kid, I remember spring break was always a time to look forward to because my family and I would take mini road trips to Orlando, FL. We would go to the theme parks, stop at roadside shops that sold citrus fruits from local farms, and even perused cheesy souvenir shops.
All of these great memories came to my mind when I saw Dana Willard’s newest collection, Day Trip fabrics. In this collection, Dana takes us on a trip through the big state of Texas! Her prints are splashed with joyful colors, cute cars, prickly cacti, and my all time favorite things...tacos.
What’s fun about this collection is that it has prints for the whole family! You can make your husband a fun shirt with the “Joyride” print, you can make yourself a comfy jumper with the “Cactus Bloom” rayon, and you can mix and match some of the other prints for your kids. After all these handmade outfits, everyone in your family would be ready for a road trip.
Sounds fun doesn’t it? Well, the fun doesn’t end there! Check out the lookbook filled with tons of projects you can make with this sunny collection and don’t miss Dana’s interview where she gives tips for the best road trip.
Oh, and the Road Map free quilt pattern… it’s perfect to take with you or to decorate a room! Make sure to download the pattern.
If you’re looking to mix and match some blenders with Day Trip fabrics, we’ve made things easier for you by picking a few.
