Sewing for Valentine's Day - Make Something Sweet for your Sweetie

Hi Lovelies,

Valentine's Day is coming soon and holiday themed sewing is one of my favorite kinda sewing! To get you in the spirit I have complied a variety of love inspired sewing projects! Homemade cards, a dress for the perfect date night, to a quilt and pillow to cuddle with your loved ones, Valentine's Day 2018 will be so much to fun to celebrate with these sewing projects made with love.

1.  Heart Valentine's Day  Card

Every time a holiday or birthday approaches I head to Target to find the perfect card. Standing in the card aisle  which seems like forever trying to find the best one to give to that special someone never quite finding the right one. I go ahead and finally pick one just to turn the card around to check the price finding out that it is waaay to expensive. Ever have this problem? I always tell myself to make my own because homemade is always the way to go. What I love the most about these Heart Cards is it incorporates sewing and fabric which are two of my favorite things! :)

Also it's super fast to make and all you need are small scraps of fabric to make, which is music to my ears! After you give the heart cards a try, try using another shape like a cupcake, birthday candle, or a star! I definitely can't wait to give this a try!

2. Dirndl Dress

To really get into the spirit why not make a dress with romantic floral hearts! The "Heart Fields Forever" print is so adorable especially when you sew it into the  Dirndl Dress pattern by Burda Style. I love the vintage flair with it's gathered waist and slim fitting bodice! The neckline shows the perfect amount of skin and the cap sleeves add the right amount of coverage. Your date will for sure fall in love with you all over again wearing this outfit! ;)

3. Balloon Pillow

Maybe your Valentine's Day will be spent on the sofa with your loved ones, binge watching romantic movies on Netflix. Add this fun circle pillow to the mix for added comfort. Use them as floor pillows for your little ones to sit! The zig zag construction of this pillow looks super fun and the applique heart is like the cherry on top! Don't want a heart try making a different shape like a smiley emjoi or a flower. Just leaving it without any applique could also be very cute depending on who you are making it for.

4. Heartsome Quilt

If  your really feeling the love try making the Heartsome quilt with Letters Fabric! The All you Need is Love Panel totally makes this quilt! The heart blocks are quick and easy to make! We mixed solid and print hearts to our quilt for extra color and contrast. If you don't have the time to tackle a whole quilt try sewing up just a few of these heart blocks to make a table runner for your dinning room table or turning your blocks into a cute wall hanging.
