2 More fusions to love: City Loft and Floralia Fusion

Hey there, makers!

The hectic holiday season is in full swing but we just had to take a break from all the gift making to show you the new additions to our Fusions bite-sized collections. Quilters, sewists, and all around crafty friends, we’re happy to show you Floralia and City Loft Fusions! Like all the other Fusions, both of these collections contain 10 prints from many of our designers that have been recolored to be part of conceptual themes.

Best of all, both of these collections have two prints in knits and one in rayon! So, let’s see what both of these Fusions are all about.

If bold colors and funky geometrics are your thing, the metropolitan chic style of City Loft Fusion will add eye catching details to your projects. Can you envision a quilt made with the saturated plums and oranges from this fusion? How about some trendy pillows and placemats? No matter what you make, we’re sure it will be chic.

AGF Mood Monday - The Best Gift

Hello!

This marks the twelfth and last AGF Mood Monday of 2017.

I want to thank you for following along! It is a great gift to be able to share with you, through this platform and through these images, our love for fabric and craft. Reminiscing of all the great things that the year brought, I would love for you to share: what is the best gift you've ever gotten?

For me it has to be every time I got a drawing from my little sisters (sadly not so little any more, but happily amazing young women) or from my niece.

I'm sure we can agree that the value of any thoughtful handmade gift is incalculable, and a great present deserves great packaging. Inspired by Japanese Furoshiki, a type of traditional wrapping cloth used to transport clothes, gifts, or other goods, we wanted to share with you our take (done with some of our knits) on this very special way of wrapping that we are also hoping to incorporate in our holiday gifts.

Let's Talk Fabric: Ottoman Tutorial

Hi!

Welcome to episode 1 of Let's Talk Fabric! We are revamping the channel and coming up with new series where we will be showcasing a variety of different home decor projects- all including FABRIC, of course! In them, you will be able to find simple, mostly no-sew projects for your home!

To kick off the series, we decided to start off with a very popular and useful item, an Ottoman!

Lets Talk Fabric - Ottoman pinterest

For this particular project, we decided to use Love Story Fabrics by Maureen Cracknell. We wanted to use a cotton canvas print since it has the perfect combination of strength and softness required for a reupholster project like this. Cotton canvas is definitely the go-to fabric for furniture design DIY. Its sturdiness and flexibility allow enough fabric to stretch without tearing. The color scheme of this print also helped greatly, since the black and white geometric aesthetic turned out to blend and pair up easily with other different prints. Explore more prints and colors ideas and check out the whole cotton canvas collection on our website.

The ottoman was built using 1 yard of fabric and batting, along with other items. The medium-strength of the cotton canvas material is perfect, because any reupholstering project will definitely have you doing a lot of pulling (A LOT), and thin cotton fabrics will just not work. Besides, this canvas Daring Tribal Noir print is a MUST HAVE.

What do you guys think? Do you see yourself making one? If so...here is the complete list of everything you will need to make this ottoman! Also, make sure to click the video below to watch the full tutorial.

Hope you guys enjoyed the video with all the steps on how to make your very own ottoman! If you have any other home decor ideas let me know in the comments! :)

Decor away...
