Hey Makers!

Guess, what? Fall is finally here and it’s time to whip out your favorite warm colors to make table runners for Thanksgiving, goodie bags for halloween, and all kinds of sewing patterns that go with the season! Although here in South Florida fall in nonexistent, I love going to local shops to see the orange, red, and brown decor reminiscent of falling leaves. Oh and don’t forget pumpkin spice everything!

Around this time last year I found a new love for curating seasonal fabrics for projects. I put together a bundle of 10 fall floral fabrics and ideas just kept rushing through my head. Well, i’m back with another fall bundle and this time it’s all about the season’s earthy colors. I decided to call this selection of fabrics Autumn Fields.

The palette for this range includes deep greens, ivory, gold, rusty orange and chocolatey brown. I wanted to step out of the conventional orange and reds that are seen during this season while keeping the cozy feel of fall.

Hey there, fabric friends!

Who can agree, that there’s something so special about kids. They say silly things, look cute all dressed up, and their curiosity is incomparable to anything else! Although I don’t have kids of my own, I love them. They’re fun to teach and I just love how creative and imaginative they can be!

Bonnie Christine illustrates all of these things beautifully, in her new collection Lambkin. This delicate range of fabrics tells a story of a peaceful farmstead filled with cute lambs, free birds, and two distinct colorways for boys and girls. She was inspired by her two children Bear and Ollie Doe and with this collection she’s sharing a sophisticated take on children’s fabrics.

Just imagine all the cute things you can make any of the kiddies in your family! I’m so obsessed with these little baby boy leggings made with the “Keeping Watch Dim” print. Those little toes are going to make me melt!

Hi There, 

What are some of your favorite sewing patterns? I know I am always on the lookout for sewing patterns that are first somewhat easy and quick to sew up and second they have to be comfortable! And just because it’s comfortable don’t mean it can’t be cute!  

Picking the right prints for your garment is the fun part! I am really digging Dana Willard’s new collection! Blush fabrics has super fun geometric fabrics mixed with modern floral fabrics. My favorite print in the collection is the print called Cat Nap, perfect for all the cat lovers out there!

Lastly, I need to pick the right fabric substrates. My go to fabrics for sewing apparel for me and my family are AGF knit fabric and rayon fabric. AGF cotton fabrics are also great because they have enough drape for clothing yet they have a bit more structure that works great for so many great clothing patterns like dresses and lightweight jackets!

Here are a few of my favorite sewing patterns that can all be found in the Blush Lookbook.

1.Kitty Dress by Maven Patterns

 With bust darts to frame your figure and a peter pan collar for a sweet modern look the Kitty Dress is a great basic dress to have in your wardrobe. It also includes the option for 3/4-length or short sleeves. This dress is easy to wear and what I love the most is you can add different style of collars or no collar at all which makes this dress super versatile.

2.Vintage Joan Dress by Burda Style

We made our Vintage Joan Dress with our Floret Sun Kissed rayon fabric. This dress can easily be worn casually to the grocery store or an afternoon in the park but can also be transformed to go out to a nice dinner or a special occasion all while being super comfy and looking great! The feel and drape of AGF Rayon is amazing and you can really live in it and not be afraid to get it dirty or use and abuse it on your daily endeavors. I really love how the armholes are constructed to taper towards the neck, which helps accentuate the shoulders. 

 3. Sugar Pop Top by Sew Caroline 

The Sugar Pop Top is perfect for the those of you who live in jeans. Throw on a Sugar Pop Top and a pair of your favorite jeans and you will be ready to face the day! Just like the Kitty Dress you have the fun collar action which who can change up to your liking. This top has two great sleeve options, cap sleeves for the everyday look or flutter sleeves to make your top a bit more dressy!

4. Anywhere Skirt by Dana Willard

I love dresses but skirts are a great alternative for the person who loves their jeans and tops. Try switching up your everyday wardrobe with a simple skirt and a basic t shirt or blouse!

5. Audrey Pants by Burda Style

We made our Audrey Pant with the Retro Petals Power knit print! My favorite things about these pants are of course the super deep pockets and the beautiful tapered hem. We paired our pants with a solid knit fabric basic tee. Tuck it in for a more polished look!

Hello, fellow home decor fans:

I wanted to create a very easy and short DIY for those of you would like to make new and original fabric placemats and still have enough time to enjoy the day.

Take this tutorial and make it your own, either you could choose to keep the placemat squared or if you would rather have round ones that's completely cute too :)

Making new mats for your table are always welcomed, or even maybe some for your kids, for when tea time comes around. Hope you like the video and definitely let me know what you think in the comment section!

Hello, Fab Makers!

Isn’t it crazy that the Fall season is here already! You know what that means… it’s time to start sewing some “me made” outfits. Perhaps you can even get a head start on holiday dresses! One substrate that is ideal for any garment is AGF Rayon. I know you’re probably thinking “um rayon is too lightweight for fall and winter” but guess what?  It’s great for layering with other pieces and it comes in a variety of styles!

Hey Fabric Friends, 

Fall is slowly creeping our way and this is the time I start thinking about the gift giving season!  During the Fall and Winter months I spend a lot more time in the kitchen baking yummy treats and preparing dinners for family and friends. Which is why I decided to create a quick and easy potholder tutorial which will come in super handy for all the cooking and baking we do during the holiday season. These potholders makes for a super thoughtful gift for someone moving into a new place or who enjoys cooking and baking. 

I made this potholder from scraps left over from a quilt! (no scraps left behind) I love a good scrap busting project! I made my potholders with Le Vintage Chic fabrics! The floral fabric and geometric fabric in this collection are so timeless and elegant. I made my potholders for my sister! This fabric collection just screams her name!
