6 Sewing Projects Made with Black & White Fabrics
March 16, 2017
Hello, fabric lovers!
Today, let’s talk a little about black and white. For as long as I can remember I have loved this classic color combination. These colors are great for backgrounds, accents, or simply anything. With the release of our Capsules and collections such as Lagom, black and white fabrics have been in our sewing room waiting to be turned into lovely projects. We even had to devote the Month of March to black and white fabrics as part of our ColorFun series to show off our obsession.
But the fun doesn’t end there! Check out all the cool projects you can make with the modern black and white prints we chose for this month.
Now let’s see some project ideas!
1. Quilt featuring Letters Fabrics (Capsules)
To me, the backing of a quilt is just as important as the beautiful piecing that goes into the front. Having fun prints as backing is a nice surprise that complements all the work that was put into the quilt. This is why I love this XO black and white fabric for any backing.
2. Nora Doctor Bag featuring Pastel Thrift Fabrics
Is there anything more elegant than a black and white handbag? Especially, when you make it to fit your style! Check out the pattern to this fabulous bag made with typewriter text fabric by clicking on the name.
3. Baby Onesie featuring Boardwalk Delight Fabrics
OK, this baby in this onesie made with the “Eat it All” fabric print is too cute! Don’t you just want to smother him in smooches? If you have a baby or know someone with one on the way, this adorable ensemble is quick make for any day.
4. Axel Skirt featuring Lagom Fabric
If you consider yourself a fashionista, this trendy skirt is a great project to add to your wardrobe! The jagged black striped fabric will add a timeless touch to the design of this skirt. Plus, it’s casual enough to wear with a t-shirt.
5. Throw Pillow Featuring Hello Bear Fabrics
We just had to include one of the most loved AGF prints to our black and white fabric showcase; the Buck Forest Night print! The simple deer silhouettes are great for any project and this specific print even comes in canvas. So, if you’re looking to make a sturdy yet funky project, this print is calling your name.
6. Misses’ Peplum Top featuring Maker Fabrics
Last but not least, I simply had to feature a classic peplum top with the pins and needles fabric. This stylish top is perfect for warm spring weather and the cute fabric is a great conversation starter for any maker. (✿◠‿◠)
