Hey there makers!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day today! I must admit, a girl can never have enough bags, clutches, pouches… you name it! I feel like we always need something cute to store our notions, makeup, and anything else. When I saw this clutch in the Sage by Bari J. look book I instantly wanted it for my collection. The patchwork design mixed with denim is so stylish.

Since many makers that saw the look book fell in love with this project, one of our amazing product designers shared a tutorial on how to make it. I hope you like it!

Cutting Instructions:

Putting it all together:

1. Cut the pieces of the Prickly Pear Ruby, Cactus Flora Berry and Primrose Field Light print. Place the fabrics right sides together and sew the pieces with a 1/4" seam allowance. Press the seams for a clean look.

2. Fold diagonally and cut across. You should have two triangles of fabric. 

3. Take the 4" x 4" square of the Baja Weave Currant print and place it face to face with the 2” x 2” Prickly Pear Indigo piece. Sew diagonally across your 2” x 2” piece to attach it to the 4” x 4.”

4. Cut diagonally across your 4” x 4” piece and sew the remaining half square piece of Prickly Pear Indigo onto upper left corner.

5. Sew the half square containing the three different fabrics to the half square with the Baja Weave Currant print. The final piece should resemble the image in the diagram above.

6. Applique your 2” x 10” strip into your 5” x 10” denim piece and hand stitch. Sew both squares onto the lower corners of front denim piece.

7. Attach the zipper and top-stitch both pieces and sew edges ¼” facing right sides together, then proceed to slip bag inside out.

 And voila! You're cute Desert Bloom clutch is complete!

Hello all makers around the world!

Today I have some exciting news to share with you. Since we keep finding  so many awesome creations on Instagram made with AGF fabrics we decided to give them some extra attention. We're happy to introduce a new contest for all of you that sew with AGF fabrics and wish to share the pictures of your projects!

So here is how it works:

• Make an awesome sewing or quilting project made entirely with AGF. (It can be anything. A dress, quilt, bag, etc.) 
• Take a crisp and clear picture of your project
• Post it on Instagram using hashtag #AGFMakersSpotlight
• Follow @artgalleryfabrics on Instagram
• Check if you have won! (The winner will be announced last day of each month!)

If you're worried that your picture will not be good enough, there's nothing to be afraid of! So you can get an idea of what we're looking for here are a few tips and an example of how lighting affects your project. :)

Hello wonderful makers!

I hope you’re having a splendid day! We’re reaching the ending of January and I hope everyone is still excited about accomplishing big goals for 2017. This year, one of my resolutions is to be more positive and find different resources to be inspired by.  There have been many things that have inspired me over the past weeks, but the most impactful has been Bonnie Christine’s new collection Wonderful Things.

This uplifting collection is all about positive affirmations and happy colors that will make you feel confident during your sewing journey. You’ll be able to play with two contrasting colorways filled with delicate watercolor florals, subtle geometrics, and a print filled with inspiring quotes!

One of my favorite prints is the Aquarelle Study Tint (bright pink watercolor floral). This beautiful floral comes in knit fabric and it’s stunning in garments. I’m completely in love with this maxi dress that we made!

As makers we all have a big stack of fabric scraps and sometimes we don't know what to do with them! Here at AGF we have bags in which we put the fabric that's left from each project. For example: 1 bag is for knits, 1 bag is for canvas fabric and the other one is for quilting cotton. Since these days we were working on Wonderful Things fabrics by Bonnie Christine we had tons of scraps of this collection. So I looked up online and and saw some cool things you can do with fabric scraps. In fact, I think you can do LOTS of things with fabric scraps, from monogram pouches to mini quilts!

Since here at AGF we are always super busy working on the new collections and the projects that come with each of them, all the sewing machines are always busy. So it figured it would be cool and kid friendly to have a "No-sew project" for all of you!

I decided to make a scrappy blanket with knit fabric. I personally love the look of this because it looks like a quilt even though it's not and I must admit it's so cozy! I took it home the same day i finished it and cuddled with it while I watched TV.

I made this quick video to explain how you can make this fun no sew blanket. I hope you like it!
