Get Creative with Ivory Fabric - The Color of August

Hello fabric enthusiast!

How are you dealing with those hot summer days? There are moments when the heat is almost unbearable here in South Florida, and all we want to wear on those days are lightweight clothes in soft colors.

This is why our ColorFun hue of August is dedicated to those times when we want to wear light colors. For August, we chose a color which is neutral, universal, and basically matches all kinds of color combinations! It's ivory! We chose it for this month because it’s a fresh color that doesn't absorb the heat and it's so classy. Can you imagine yourself wearing comfy ivory shorts with a matching sleeveless blouse? We sure can!

For those of you who never thought of working with ivory colored fabrics, you have to try it! Here's how you can use this color:

Ivory fabric for quilting

The color ivory is a great neutral to add to your quilts! It blends effectively with a variety of colors and it's great to use as the background. You can even consider ivory fabrics the "little black dress" of your stash because they can be used in so many ways. Especially, if you love low volume modern quilts!

Ivory fabric for garments

In clothing and fashion, ivory is a muted color that can be combined with many styles. This color is perfect for summer and looks great during any occasion. You can wear ivory casually for a Sunday brunch or you can dress it up for a night out with a few accessories. In addition, you'll find it easier to create color combinations with ivory while adding a delicate touch to your sewing projects. You can't go wrong with this sophisticated color!

Ivory fabric for home decor

Ivory is also a great subtle shade to use in home decor. This light color will add a serene style to your living space and will allow you to have a blank canvas to use statement pieces such as red pillows or colorful curtains. Plus, using ivory for home decor can give romantic yet retro vibe.
