Tune Tuesday

TuneTuesdaylogo
Happy Tuesday everyone! It's that time again where I share with you some awesome music inspired by our talented designers and their collections.

Today's Tune Tuesday is inspired by Sarah Watson's premiere collection, Luxe in Bloom. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Extravagarden!

Luxe_albumCover
With its gorgeous organic blooms and geometric fusions, its only fitting that the ethereal Florence Welch lead this playlist along with the likes of Feist and Sia. So sit back and relax, or take a stroll through your garden with this harmonious playlist that invites you to listen!

For more music inspired by this lush collection, check out our Spotify playlist! Subscribe to the playlist to add your own songs that make you feel the Extravagarden vibe or let us know which songs we should add!

Until next time...

Fat Quarter Gang - HST Zipper Pouch & Key Fob by In Color Order

FatQuarterGANG_banner400pxBLUE

Hi! It’s Jeni, from In Color Order, sharing my latest tutorial for the Fat Quarter Gang! Today we’re going to make some more accessories for your purse, a HST Zipper Pouch and Key FOBs!

Main

I love keeping a roomy zipper pouch in my purse to keep some lotion, lip balm, a nail file or two, and a bit of emergency candy. This pouch is the perfect size for all those little things that end up at the bottom of your bag!

While we’re at it, how about a new key FOB? We’ll make two different versions, one plain and one patchwork. Makes it easier to find your keys, plus they’re just pretty!

The pouch features half-square triangles (HST), which we’ll cover, so never fear if you haven’t made them before!

Materials:

Happy Friday!

Today we bring you the most delicious muffin's in the WORLD! (okay, maybe not the world but pretty darn close.)

The first time we had these we nearly died from how the cream cheese just made this muffin moist and crumbly and full of goodness. Right then and there we knew we had to share this with the world. So here it goes...

OH! and about the name.. Well if anyone has ever seen Superbad you know what we are talking about. If not, at the bottom of the post I'll give you an idea.

Happy baking!

It's all hearts, of course, but I love that they don't jump right out at you due to the strong secondary design. For this project I used a mixture of blenders. The finished runner measures 24" x 36.".

Color Me Inspired!

Bonjour Everyone,

This morning as the smell of blueberry muffins filled my home I was hit with a spark of inspiration.

Somewhere between "Danse, Danse, Danse"ing to Mika - Elle Me Dit and singing into my spatula I started dreaming of a weekend in Paris. In my mind I am strolling through Montmartre walking up and down hills, one rue after another of lace trimmings and antique buttons on original vintage cards. There is no place like it in the world.

I hope you feel as inspired as I am this morning. I know Kat, the music genius, gives you all of the amazing tunes to listen to ... I have been listening to Elegant Exhuberance for days.. but may I suggest We are Enfant Terrible- Ce que tu veux de moi is another great song to dance around the house to if you feel like sharing my fun Parisian state of mind.

I am going to go pour myself another cup of coffee, eat a muffin, fill my home with music and dream of Paris. Who's joining me?

Tune Tuesday

TuneTuesdaylogo
Happy Tuesday everyone! How was everyone's weekend and what have you all been up to?! My wekeend was pretty eventful! I went to the circus that was in town this weekend and took a quick trip to the fabric store for a few "beginner's items" that I was missing. Yes, you heard correctly. I'm attempting to sew and it's proving to be a lot of fun! I've already made a pillow for my puppy's head (because if not, it's just a giant pin cushion) and a pointy kitty that actually stands. I'm super excited about it all and I can't wait to start sewing some more!

Per Anais' request, I must show you my creations :)

Collage_sewing
After Picture Note: The pillow has been stuffed and no puppies were harmed in the making :)

It's that time again when the sweet sounds of shared music fill your ears. Today's Tune Tuesday is Elegant Exuberance!

Splendor1920_AlbumCover
Inspired by Bari J.'s collection, 'Splendor 1920', Elegant Exuberance brings together an array of musical artists that range from the classic Edith Piaf to the musicians of today. With a little Parisian flair and those classic upbeat sounds that are timeless, each song adds its own little slice of pie to the 1920s feel. Check it out!

Have Spotify? So do we! Check out our Elegant Exuberance playlist where we will continue to add more songs inspired by this decadent collection! Feel free to subscribe to the playlist and add songs of your own! We'd love to hear your suggestions!

So, until next Tuesday...

From my musical ears to yours,

Kat
