Strips are Boring.

NOOOOT! Or so I think...

There's a common belief that there's only so much you can do with strips... But that's SO not true! There are zillions of things you can create, the key is to play with different fabrics, colors, and settings (yes, SETTINGS). You wouldn't believe the difference they can make)

Let me show you some examples so you can see what I mean:

This is a table runner made with a whole bunch of blueish fabrics, in straight setting. Play with different widths and lengths, and throw some solids into the mix! The channel quilting adds a lot to it, too.

And here we have a cool placemat made with a 45 degree setting... what do you think about the solid yo-yos on the corners? I think they make the whole thing look a lot more interesting with almost no extra effort.

Finally, another table runner, this time made with a 60 degree setting (there are many rulers that can do the job) and a braided detail with matching solid colors, with a more earthy mood...

See? It's amazing how many different looks you can create with dear ol' strips. So dig into your stash and let the sewing begin!

I love to play with fabrics! Do you?

Love,

Pat.

Sew Simple, Sew Chic... Sew your new Tablet Coverlet!

Hello everyone!

I would just like to thank everyone for all their warm comments in regards to Sheebo. It really means a lot to me. We still miss him over here and I can say, there is not one day that I don't think about him. He'll be in our hearts always and forever.

I know it's been a while since I've written, but it's been a busy week for us. With designing and photo-shooting, I haven't had the chance to get a breather in. Luckily, today I took the time to stop the presses to share with you something that has been in the works for a few weeks now.

About a year ago I purchased the iPad and I still haven't found that perfect case to compliment it. I looked through all sorts of cases (leather, hard-shell, and even sleeve cases), but none of them seemed to fit what I wanted: something soft, but sturdy, fashionable, yet everyday. So I thought, why not make my own?!

This is the TABLET COVERLET, the perfect companion to your perfect companion! It's a simple and fun project and GUESS WHAT!?

It's FREE!

Not only will it be protected, but secured by a flap that is fastened with a belt.
